Chain stitch is one of my faves! It's great for a chunkier outline, text or adding a braid effect in to your work.
Here's how ya do it:
Step one:
Start with two small vertical stitches alongside each other (photo one)
Bring your needle up at Point A (photo two) and pass it behind the two small stitches without going through the fabric
Pull the thread all the way through, then re-insert your needle at Point A again (photo three)
Pull the thread through all the way through to the back
Step two:
Bring your needle up at Point B (photo four)
Insert behind the stitch made in Step One (photo five). The needle shouldn't go through the fabric at this stage, just behind the stitch.
Pull the thread all the way through and then re-insert in to Point B (photo six). Pull the thread all the way through to the back of your work
Repeat Step Two as necessary
