Extended fly stitch is the ultimate lea stitch! Bunch a load of these together and you've got yourself a fern! Made much in the same way as Fly Stitch, only you're making a Y not a V.
Here's how ya do it!
Bring needle up at A and re-insert at B, pull through to the back, leaving a small loop (photo one).
Bring needle back up at point C, which is placed below A and B, and insert it through the loop you just created (photo two).
Pull needle all the way through to the front and then back down at D to create a tail (photo three), creating a Y shape (photo four).
